Beaverdell to Christina Lake

Distance: 150.06 km, Total ascent: 1,588 m, Time: 07:39, Trip distance: 1,033.9 km

A big day. My second 150 km and this time the legs were not rested, which it was the previous time. There were also 500 m more climbing to do.

Here's the snaps (more):

I was on the road by 5:00. I passed these llamas in an Indian reserve about 30 km down the road. The mist in the background rose from the river.

I later passed through Greenwood, Canada's smallest city. The city had a population implosion and now only has 625 permanent residents.

After a long morning of cycling (around 120 km done before 12:00) I reached Grand Forks, where I was planning to stay the night. The temperature rose around 5-7 degrees as I descended into this valley. The legs still felt good, so I packed in another 20 km and camped at the next town, Christina Lake.

Throughout the trip, I've seen loads of RV's. These guys too the cake though. A satellite dish on the left and those porch hanging baskets on the right. Not sure if that's my idea of a holiday in the great outdoors, but whatever works for you.

Gist: A very good day. As the day before, the scenery did not really take your breath away, but it was still very beautiful. The cycling very easy going. Luckily the uphills had very low gradients and I hardly had to break a sweat to get over them. The last 20 km was quite tough though. The heat and tired legs made life difficult.
