Distance: 62.45 km, Total ascent: 706 m, Time: 03:13, Trip distance: 795.73 km
After two days of resting, new gears, and a new saddle, I was more than ready to get going again.
The photo's (more):
In an attempt to beat the heat, I got away around 6:30 and took this photo just outside Penticton. It looked like a mini-Grand Canyon to the left... erm. yeah. It's like a short-tall man.
As with the previous two riding days, there were loads of wine and fruit farms along the route. This was probably the nicest one I've seen. The Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park is on the other side of the pond. Location location location.
Water, mountains, sky, duck.
I arrived in Kelowna just as things were warming up. A lot of people enjoying the weather in the park. I had more pressing matters to attend to though; the world cup semi-finals between Germany and Spain, which ze Germans lost. Aargh.
Gist: This day was, and probably would be, the easiest day of the entire trip. Finishing the 62 km in only 3:13, it really was a walk in the park. I had three small climbs to get over, but with the fresh legs and new gears, it was a breeze. My rear-end felt better. The saddle definitely helped, but I think I'll still experience a fair bit of discomfort until the end of the tour.
